Fred has never been presented? Former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson quit the presidential race Republican Tuesday after a series of poor finishes in early primary and caucus states. "Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for the Presidency the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort, "Thompson said in a statement. What was your short term all this?
Fred did not run. He waited too late to make a decision. He turned with enthusiasm to the campaign. And results are obvious. His execution was DOA!
Thompson's fate was sealed last Saturday in the primary South Carolina, finishing third in a state he had said he needed to win. In the statement, Thompson did not say whether we support one of his former rivals. It was one of a handful of members of Congress who supported Arizona Sen. John McCain in 2000 race winner cons George W. Appointment of Mr. Bush's party.
So now we wait to see how this shakes. Who will benefit most? My thoughts are that Mitt Romney, Huckabee the benefit of obtaining a few votes, however, Mike's campaign is broke and going nowhere, now that the hype Iowa evangelicals faded into the sunset. Given that John McCain is far from being a conservative, much less a Republican (and Rudy), will benefit not Fred's departure.
With the stock air refueling and some say possible a 6000 Dow, attention is now focused on the economy. It's the economy stupid! And with the economic destiny and business experience, Mitt seems to be moving toward his camp. The latest Rasmussen poll in Florida echoes the possibility that Mitt Romney leads all other candidates.
But come Super Tuesday, the battle moves into the big states and once again, due to the financial Romney (personal finance), has another advantage over McCain and Giuliani (who may be toast after Florida anyway). But then there is of Bloomberg potential factor - perhaps!
