For anyone studying popular classical music can be a daunting task to know where to start. There are pieces so large that a beginner may be overwhelmed. Here are 10 tracks of the most popular classic with a brief description of each. There are many others, of course, but these 10 are certainly among the most popular classics of all time.

Clair de Lune is a piece by Claude Debussy, French composer. This is the third and most popular movement of the Suite Bergamasque greater. It is played pianissimo and is largely in D flat major, with a shift to E major toward the end. Clair de Lune taught to students of classical piano, popular for years and occupies an important place in movies and television shows.

Basso continuo refers to a group of instruments, we should be able to play chords. Other instruments can play in the lower register, like a cello. Canon in D is often played at weddings.

The Alleluia part of the Messiah by George Frideric Handel. The text is taken from a libretto by Charles Jennens, who adapted parts of the Old and New Testament to its composition. The Alleluia is taken in the book of the Apocalypse, and it is customary for the audience to their feet during movement of the Messiah.

George Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue is a piece that combines elements of popular classical music with jazz music popular at the time. He was commissioned as an element in a classical jazz concert that will be presented by conductor Paul Whiteman. Known as a favorite song from Al Capone, "Rhapsody in Blue has appeared in numerous films and commercials.

The Piano Sonata in B minor is one of the most popular works of Franz Liszt Piano classical solo. This is a piece in the Romantic style and consists of small movements incorporated into a larger whole. Thematic elements are presented in each movement, although the movements of different configuration elements that sound differently each time. In 1744 he published a similar book entitled Notices Twenty-four Preludes and Fugues. Together, these two books include The Well-Tempered Clavier.

The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi violin has four concerts. A Baroque piece from 1723, the Four Seasons is also considered a series of symphonic poems, such as Vivaldi instructed each movement. Expressions such as "the drunkards have fallen asleep" and "dog barking" stipulates that drivers on the feeling of each song in this concert of popular classical music.
