Parlophone Mono
1962 was a great year for the Beatles. It was the year where they met George Martin, has signed a record deal and recorded his first love "Single Me Do". But the year is not really very good start for the young group as their audition for Decca 1st January no work. Although in retrospect, it was the best (if they had been signed by Decca, music history as we know it would probably quite different.)
The Beatles recorded four original songs with George Martin for Parlophone / EMI in 1962, which was eventually released as the A & B Sides of their first two singles.
"Love Me Do" - This was the first Beatles single released in the UK (October 5, 1962) and eventually reaching # 17 in the singles charts in England. It was a fairly strong start, but it is clear that a suspicion what was to come. In my opinion, not only the first Beatles single, but easily his worst. It has been # 1 in the United States at the height of Beatlemania in 1964.
PS Te Quiero "- The B side of" Love Me Do "single. Drummer Andy White (who succeeded Ringo capacity because George Martin was not sure at this point Ringo) played drums on this (and a version of "Love Me Do.") There are a few tips from Paul McCartney's abilities as a melody of this song, but generally not exactly a song to "write home about.
"Please Please Me" - This was the first record The Beatles were great and made November 26 1962. Would be a single disk # 1 when it was released in January '63.
Ask Me Why "- The B side of" If Please Please Me. "As a" PS Te Quiero "and" Love Me Do "is just an indication of what the group could do. The Beatles were clearly yet to find texts again in 1962. Soon find themselves in a large scale.
All of The Beatles 1960s releases are available in both their original mono mixes and in stereo as a part of the new Beatles Remastered CD Box Sets.
