Kids think I'm a hippie, and I don't think I am, can you help?
I'm intrested in the Beatles, the Stones, Billy Joel, Queen, Pink Floyd and other bands from the sixties and seventies. I only eat fish, dairy, veggies and fruits, and breads. I wear a pair of John Lennon glasses to school. I'm against war and violence, and for peace and love. I'm in the eigth grade and most people call me a hippie. I don't think I am, do you?
Dig it!....You're a child of the sixties, baby. Don't hide it! Shout it out loud, man! Maybe you could call yourself a neo-hippie if that helps. At least you're into a healthy lifestyle and not drugs. You didn't mention Jimmy Hendrix and his song "If Six Were Nine". I love that part where he says, I'm going to wave my freak flag,.... Hi!" Just be authentic. You don't have to go all out but keep that utopian dream in your heart and it will sustain you through hard times. That's what the 60s generation was trying to do. Keep the faith!
