Did Irish working class insurrections against the British empire bring better conditions for other working?

I was wondering if the British empire had learned lessons from events in Ireland and put policies in place in other countries to try to avoid some of the same problems.

You have to consider that GB had been involved in Irish affairs for hundreds of years. Ireland had become GB's training ground for its armies, Cromwell, Churchill and the ouwll cow Thatcher, to name but a few. You can consider the Great Famine, the flight of the Earles and the migrations of millions, did Britain learn from these events? you bet they bloody did. Queen Victoria gave a £1,000 to the famine relief fund, how kind.

The 'Great Hunger' was one of many famines in Ireland during the first half of the nineteenth century, but the size of the disaster dwarfed those that preceded it. A contemporary comment was that "God sent the blight, but the English made the famine: and to some extent this was true because the governments of both Peel and Lord John Russell did little to help the Irish population.

The Great Famine, also known as the Potato Famine, The Great Hunger and An Gota Mor, reduced the population of Ireland by three million people, or 36%, during the middle of the 19th century. Most of these people immigrated, but it is estimated that one million or more died of starvation and disease. While the famine was initiated by a potato blight, its actual causes are rooted much deeper in the economic system in place at the time and the attitude of the English to the people of Ireland.
